A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE COMPANY
Founded in 1985 by President Richard Alvarez, CCC was originally located in Los Angeles,
California. The company relocated to suburban Washington, D.C. in 1988 to focus on its
speciality, international health consulting. Rapid growth followed this relocation, primarily
in international health and development through U.S. Government contracts.
For several years, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) was the company's
primary client, as CCC won long-term contracts in El Salvador (Population Dynamics, 1988; Family
Health Services, 1991; and several other assignments over an eight year period), in Cairo, Egypt
(Cost Recovery for Health - Health Insurance Organization, 1991 and Cost Recovery for Health -
Ministry of Health, 1992); in Dhaka, Bangladesh (Expanded Program on Immunization [EPI] Project,
1994), and in Washington, D.C. (Support to the Women in Development Office, 1993 and 1997). These
major contracts, combined with numerous short-term research and evaluation projects on behalf of USAID
and other organizations, kept the company active and growing.
In recent years, the company has expanded its client base in the international sector to
include various USAID Missions, the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) and
host countries. More importantly, the company has moved into several new
specialty areas, including military support programs. Past military projects include two task order
contracts with the U.S. Army Medical Research & Materiel Command.
